What Is The Difference Between Skin Lightening And Skin Bleaching?
Skin whitening treatments work by reducing the content of melanin of the skin.
Many active ingredients have been shown to be effective in skin whitening; some have beneficial side effects (e.g.: are antioxidants and nutrients); some are not totally safe (for example, those containing mercury).
The term bleaching generally refers to the use of products with aggressive whitening agents. In other words, those that contain ingredients such as mercury, steroids and hydroquinone. Hydroquinone is not available without a prescription in Europe.
